Studies on the Isolation of Vibrio Parahaemolyticus from Sea Water, Sea Mud and Marine Products in Chun Nam Coast


Abstract
The authors studied on the distribution of Vibrio parahaemolyticus from sea water, sea mud and various sea fishes and shall fishes in Chun Nam coast from June to October in 1977. The results obtained were as follows: 1) The results of sea water quality in 4 places are tabulated as in "Table 1". These results was not different each other significantly and it was difficult to relate sea water quality with the distribution of Vibrio parahaemolyticus. 2) Vibrio paranaemolyticus was isolated in 74 cases (21.3%) out of total 347 specimens. (sea water, sea mud, sea fishes and shell fishes). 3) The isolation rate of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in each specimen was 50.0% in the ark shell, 40.0% in the small octopus, 33.3% in the cuttle fish, 30.0% in the horse mackerel, 30.0% in the sea mussel, 26.7% in the short necked clam and 25.0% in the mackerel respectively. In the flying fish, the peach and the sea bream was not isolated. 4) The isolation of Vibrio parahaemolyticus in each places was 27.4% in So Rok Do coast, 22.6% in Mok Po coast, 20. 2% in Yeo Soo coast and 15.2% in Wan Do coast respectively.
